03/19/2023 at 1:00 p.m. by Susanne Braun – Sponsored gifts are okay in Pokémon Go for trainers who are not interested in advertising but still want a few extra items. In the meantime, the sponsored gifts have apparently become more annoying in some regions, because now there are those with video advertising. Doesn’t have to be bad if at least the rewards were right.
If you want to have free items in Pokémon Go all the time, who can get gifts sponsored by the game send, but then has to live with the fact that third-party providers want to foist advertising on him. The sponsored gifts do not contain any particularly special or special items, but often simply a few Pokéballs, potions or berries and that’s it. You can decide whether you want this or not by simply enabling or disabling Sponsored Gifts in the game’s options.
Pokémon Go players report that Sponsored Gifts have now reached the next level, namely the inclusion of promotional videos. At least the player InvisibleSoul8 has published a screenshot of it and also reports that he sacrificed himself for the community and watched the video.

For features like a permanent super incubator, on the other hand, players would certainly be more likely to watch videos like this.

We already mentioned at the beginning that the Sponsored Gifts can be activated or deactivated. You do this in the options menu, which recently received a visual refresh. If you haven’t noticed that yet, take a look – the menu now looks a bit more modern and tidier. However, the “Show Sponsored Gifts” option that used to exist is gone.

It can be assumed that the function is now hidden under “General” and there under the item “Show sponsored messages from third-party providers”. By the way, so far the display of advertising in our region has been less dramatic because the people at Niantic apparently can’t really market the feature. At least we ourselves have only received sponsored gifts that have not been marketed. However, we also turned off the feature pretty quickly.
