The developers of the upcoming game Hellboy: Web of Wyrd paid tribute to actor Lance Reddick after his death. Lance Reddick was one of those actors who appeared in a wide variety of films and made the most of his screen time, even if it was only a few minutes. Over the years, he’s starred in huge titles like the John Wick franchise, The Wire, Fringe, and more, but in the last decade, he’s also started to make a name for himself in gaming. The actor has appeared in Destiny 2, the Horizon franchise, and a number of other games, but his next video game role has fans excited.
In late 2022, a new Hellboy game was confirmed to be in development, with Lance Reddick voicing the titular character. When it was revealed today that Reddick had passed away at the age of 60, many were worried about what this could mean for the game. Had his role been unfinished, it could mean the studio would have been forced to resort to reshoots. Hellboy: Web of Wyrd development team tonight posted a tweet, in which she paid tribute to the actor and expressed her condolences to everyone affected by his death. The tweet ended with “We still feel honored that he was our Hellboy,” which could mean that Reddick has completed all of the character’s lines and will remain in that role.
Of course, things can change, but it’s still a wonderful gesture from the studio to pay tribute to the actor and share touching words. We haven’t heard much about the new Hellboy game since its announcement, and it’s unclear when we’ll be able to find out more. The game does not currently have a release date.
