Yu Suzuki’s new NFT project takes shape: the legendary creator of Shenmue or OutRun will transform the heroes of the Virtua Fighter series into ‘non-fungible tokens’ to be integrated into the gaming blockchain of the Oasyx Metaverse.
Outlining his vision for the future of the digital entertainment industry, Yu Suzuki explains that “over the years with SEGA I developed Virtua Fighter using 3D computer graphics technology which was very innovative and cutting edge at the time. Since then, the Virtua Fighter series has become one of the most fan favorites in the genre and continues to be supported to this day.Through my work overseeing the development of Oasyx’s gaming vision, I am pleased to embrace this new technology based on NFT and blockchain to offer a new form of entertainment by drawing on the titles of the Virtua Fighter series”.
In his new career path with Oasyx, Yu Suzuki will oversee the development of 1,000 NFTs based on the 11 most iconic and iconic characters from the Virtua Fighter roster. Each of these wrestlers can be used to immerse themselves in virtual worlds created for the occasion by Oasyx and other Metaverse frequenters.
According to Suzuki himself, the NFTs of Virtua Fighter “will be the basis for the future avatars of the Metaverse“.
