This Wednesday, March 22, Chapter 4 of the explosive saga of John Wick arrives in cinemas in France and Navarre. From Paris to Berlin via Osaka, the feature film will amaze! Mistreated by the pandemic and postponed twice, the project kept an omnipresent Keanu Reeves in suspense. After Matrix 4, the Canadian actor resumed his contract killer costume and he will soon return to Ballerina, a spin-off of John Wick. But in parallel, he is also preparing another surprising project.
Last summer, Keanu Reeves took advantage of a trip to Comic-Con in San Diego to present the trailer for John Wick 4, but also talk about an adaptation. The Hollywood star indeed intends to transcribe on the screen his comic book BRZRKR. Co-written with Matt Kindt and drawn by Ron Garney, this trilogy published in 2020 focuses on the journey of a berserker – hence the title – driven by insurmountable violent impulses. Under the aegis of the American government, the individual is charged with missions totally inconceivable for ordinary mortals. By doing so, he hopes to discover his past and the origin of this curse.
A simple glance at the comic strip is enough to find the features of the actor. The hero is Keanu Reeves and it is therefore logical that the actor will take over this role in a film adaptation. This will be available on Netflix and there is even talk of an animated series – in two seasons – produced by the Production IG studio (Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga…). Keanu Reeves should voice the main character. Suffice to say that the actor’s fans will be delighted!

Fan of comics, the actor took the opportunity to present this comic. And his enthusiasm is really nice to see:
BRZRKR (Berseker) has everything you expect from a comic. It has great designs, great colors, a great story. There’s action, a bit of romance and it’s really something!
When the two comic book authors offered him the idea, he jumped at the chance and he liked the duality emanating from this almost Viking hero, able to go from a “normal” state to a second state. Imprisoned by this curse, the character delights in this violence without being able to get out of it. Keanu Reeves obviously believes in this project and it will be interesting to see how the Japanese studio will reproduce an artistic direction with a very American tone.
Finally, and because it may interest some, know that Keanu Reeves will star in the series The Devil in the White City produced by Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio. A series that will lead him to take possession of the role of HH Holmes, the first serial killer in the history of the United States and who has been the subject of a certain The Dark Pictures: The Devil In Me.
