While an Android 13 update is coming soon, the latest beta shows off an improved Pixel Launcher. The keyboard animation in the app drawer is finally smoother. If you use it all the time, it should (a little) change your life.

The Pixel Experience, or the Pixel Launcher, is arguably one of the most popular Android interfaces on the market. It’s quite logical: available on Pixel smartphones, it is designed by Google, which also manages the development of Android. In the latest Android 13 beta, the QPR3, the keyboard display when opening the app drawer becomes smoother on these models, as reported by XDA Developers.
Smoother animations for Pixel smartphones
In fact, this novelty was spotted by an XDA Developers informant by the name of Eduardo. Opening the app drawer is now smoother. This is obvious when the “Always show the keyboard” option is activated: it allows you to activate the keyboard when you open this drawer, to start looking for a particular application. So both appear at the same time.

Before this beta, the keyboard was displayed only after opening the drawer, which can be annoying when you want to go quickly, while adding additional animation. This novelty was also spotted in the second Developer Preview of Android 14: it seems that Google is fully convinced of it.
This smoother opening of the app drawer will be officially rolled out with the next Pixel Feature Drop update which happens quarterly. Appointment is therefore made next June to take advantage of it. We should also see the arrival of the Pixel 7a, of which we know more and more details.
