Asus is best known for its laptops dedicated to office automation, but be aware that it also offers smartphones in its catalog. On the one hand, we have the ROG Phones, which are real smartphones for gamers, and, on the other, the Asus Zenfone, which include high-end references. It also happens that the latest model, the Zenfone 9, takes advantage of the AliExpress anniversary promotions to lower its price from 799 euros to only 559 euros.

Asus Zenfone 9 at the best price?
An AMOLED panel not ugly at all
The first thing that fascinates about the Asus Zenfone 9 is its size, so much power behind a screen of only 5.9 inches… From experience, we know that compact smartphones make compromises, especially at the battery level. This is not the case here since the autonomy of the Asus Zenfone 9 can easily reach a day and a half and even displays a score of 5:25 p.m. according to our ViSer test protocol. Fast charging is limited to a power of 30 W. This is below what the Chinese competition offers, but it is still fair.
The screen has something to seduce, here we have an AMOLED panel which provides a very high level of contrast and perfect blacks, and this, in a Full HD + definition (2,400 x 1,080 pixels). The adaptive refresh rate can go up to 120Hz, making browsing, watching content or gaming smooth and enjoyable to watch. Brightness peaks at 729 cd/m² and nearly the entire DCI-P3 spectrum is covered. You can only pester on the borders of the forehead and the chin, which are thicker than the side borders.
L’excellent Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 au programme
For its latest Zenfone, Asus has decided to hit hard and equip it with Qualcomm’s high-end SoC, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. This is the same processor that powers the Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 and Flip 4. L ‘Asus Zenfone 9 can therefore boast of being a beast of power, especially for gaming, we also ran Fortnite in Epic quality at 60 FPS during our test and the smartphone showed no signs of fatigue. . The only black point is that the heating is present with this processor. In the 128 GB version of the Asus Zenfone 9, it is assisted by 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
The camera is however less stellar since it relies on only two rear sensors, indicating a lack of versatility. We have a main sensor of 50 Mpx (f / 1.9) and an ultra wide-angle of 12 Mpx (f / 2.2) with a field of view of 113 °. The Asus Zenfone 9 would have deserved an extra telephoto lens, like what Samsung Galaxy has been doing for a few years or Google Pixel. The photos are not catastrophic either, but we see that the image processing does the bare minimum. Finally, the Asus Zenfone 9 is capable of filming up to Full HD 60 FPS, here too, it finds itself in inferiority to the competition which has already moved to 4K, or even 8K.
