Sevilla have officially announced the appointment of Jose Luis Mendilibar as head coach. The contract runs until the end of the current season.
As head coach of Sevilla, Mendilibar, 62, replaced Jorge Sampaoli, who was sacked this morning. Previously, Mendilibar has worked with Eibar, Athletic Bilbao, Valladolid, Osasuna, Levante, Eibar, Alaves and a number of other clubs from the lower divisions of Spanish football.
Sevilla are currently 14th in the La Liga standings, just 2 points ahead of the relegation zone.
