EA SPORTS launches campaign against racism and discrimination on and off the pitch
EA SPORTS, in collaboration with numerous league partners, is releasing a series of in-game jerseys with clear messages to fight racism and discrimination in football on and off the pitch.
Each league partner’s unique jerseys will be available in EA SPORTS FIFA 23 in the coming days, giving fans the opportunity to spread these important messages.
“EA SPORTS is committed to fighting toxic behavior not only in our games, but on the pitch and beyond,” said Andrea Hopelain, SVP of Brand at EA SPORTS. “Together with our league partners, we want to use our platform to spread the anti-racism message through gaming. Fans can now access the latest special kits worldwide in-game and show their support for this important issue.”
EA SPORTS and league partner campaigns include:
Bundesliga – „STOP RACISM“ – The Bundesliga is working hand in hand with its clubs on its “STOP RACISM” campaign. The campaign is supported all year round by the clubs and partners of the Bundesliga and the 2nd Bundesliga. In collaboration with independent streetwear brand Beautiful Struggles, the DFL has created the purple STOP RACISM jersey. With its clear message, the jersey reflects the “International Week Against Racism” campaign of the German Foundation Against Racism. The kit will be released in-game on March 29th.
Premier League – „There’s no room for racism“ – The No Room For Racism campaign brings together the Premier League’s diverse range of actions to combat discrimination. The Premier League teamed up with designer Kingsley Nebechi and Nike to create a kit and stadium decoration featuring the ‘NRFR’ message. Inspired by tribal artwork, the jersey references ethnicities from around the world.
LaLiga Santander – „UNITY“ – Spain’s LaLiga Santander created their “UNITY” campaign in collaboration with the internationally award-winning artist collective BOA Mistura. The campaign seeks to demonstrate through unity the importance of ending racism in all aspects of society. The jersey design features bold color patterns on the front and back and the word “UNITY” on the sleeves. It underscores the league’s message to fight racism and discrimination.
Ligue 1 Uber Eats und LICRA – “We are all responsible” – French Ligue 1 Uber Eats and LICRA have created a campaign focused on reporting unacceptable behavior in the stadium and online and fighting racism and anti-Semitism. Together they designed a jersey that featured the ‘SIGNALEZ’ (‘SIGN UP’) logo over a red training jersey. The message “Entrez en jeu” (“Get involved”) encourages everyone to report such behavior.
Series A and UNAR – Keep Racism Out – Italy’s Serie A teamed up with UNAR to create the Keep Racism Out campaign, which fights racism and discrimination in all its forms, not only in football and the world of sports, but also in everyday life . The motto of the campaign is therefore “Together. Everywhere”. The jersey features Serie A branding colors and an unmissable white ‘Keep Racism Out’ logo on the front.
KNVB and Eredivisie – ONE LOVE – The Dutch Football Association, Dutch Eredivisie and others have joined forces to create the ONE LOVE campaign, which fights against racism and discrimination. “ONE LOVE” not only provides educational work, but also offers further training opportunities for football clubs to give insights into the importance of diversity. The jointly created in-game jersey contains different shapes and colors that take a clear stand against any form of discrimination. There is a “ONE LOVE” bracelet on the sleeve.
