At the time of its broadcast, the phenomenon series Game of Thrones managed to make viewers go through a whole host of emotions. Fear, anger, annoyance, surprise, dread and many more. Sometimes, the show made us cross paths with highly detestable characters who, by chance, had a destiny proportional to their bad karma. In a book, the actor of one of them tells how he ended up with excrement in his face during a shoot.
Game of Thrones, un univers rempli d’anecdotes
The Game of Thrones series may have ended in a sweet and (very) bitter way in May 2019, she sometimes makes her comeback in the news through small anecdotes dropped by the former stars of the show. Requested from all sides on the occasion of the broadcast of the series The Last of Us, Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal were no exception to the rule. When Bella took the time to reminisce one of his greatest battle scenes against a giantPedro, he confided in the major scene of season 4 which made him so popular. Besides, retracing his careerit is on another crisp anecdote, linked to its casting, that we came across.
A few years after the series, these two actors became the darlings of Internet users and spectators and above all knew how to bounce back after the series adapted from the novels of George RR Martin, unlike one of the stars of the show who has been extremely discreet since she is no longer credited there. Anyway, there will always be anecdotes to unearth on this or that show. In the case of Game of Thrones, you only have to look at Bryan Cogman’s book, Behind the Scenes of Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne, to fill it up with funny stories.
The inhabitants of Port-Réal were not very fan of Prince Joffrey either.
Game of Thrones didn’t just bring characters we loved to life, no. HBO’s flagship series also offered us on a set characters that were unsympathetic or that we loved to hate, like Joffrey Baratheon, played by Jack Gleeson. An actor described as a boy of immense kindness who knew how to make this characteristic disappear behind the role of undrinkable prince and slap head that he was on the screen. Because of this status, Jack Gleeson has had it all, mostly because some viewers couldn’t distinguish between his character and his true nature. However, despite the criticisms and invectives, it is certain the filming that he had to face the most difficult conditions.
Strangely, it’s a lot of fun to play the bad guy. While filming the riot, I was fuming like a brat with horse shit all over my face
In the previously cited book, if he admitted that it was particularly exhilarating to play the bad guys, it was not easy every day on the film sets. Among the most horrible memories that remain in his head, Jack Gleeson readily cites the live action of episode 6 of season 2, or during the Port-Réal riots. During these scenes, the young prince is escorted by Sandor Clegane but still receives horse dung in the face. As he explains, it was not earth or any other material of the kind, but rather excrement. Without a doubt, this sequence will forever leave an indelible mark on his mind. Let’s hope for him that the first take was the right one!
