Recently we’ve been talking about several features that are about to come to Google Maps. One of these features is called Immersive View and combines Street View from Google Maps with aerial imagery and adds a layer that shows weather data and traffic information to give the most real and complete idea possible. It’s just that everything changes at several hours of the day. So let’s look at the new function of Google Maps.
Google Maps: new function makes it really amazing!
Google mentions that we can easily go from the aerial view to the street level to see the restaurants in the area and, as Google said, “it is even possible to see inside them to understand the vibe of a place before we make a reservation” . For now, it was expected to be available in cities like Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo. But a Reddit user discovered that the feature has already made its way to London and Berlin.
To use the immersive view and after typing where you want to go, look at the photo gallery near the bottom of the screen. The first photo will be called Immersive View. This is if it is available for that location. Tap on it and you will have an unparalleled Google Maps experience.
It is undoubtedly a very interesting function. However, the launch seems to be quite slow. In practice, this was a function introduced last year.
But there is a big question regarding the use of this function. The data expense!
The Redditor who found out that this news was already available in London also noted that the Immersive view for 30 minutes consumed 2GB of data, which is something that can worry those who don’t have a lot of data.
However, another curious point is that in terms of several buildings this system shows many details. Even in the stadiums where we can see the zones to which the different seats belong and even the bathrooms.
