Former Lviv head coach Oleg Dulub spoke about his attitude to the term “sport outside of politics”.
“First of all, I read on the Internet, those who condemned this war. The Olympics has always been peace, wars have stopped. But there was another example – the 1936 Olympics in Germany in order to show the superiority of the Aryan race. Therefore, for me, too, everything is clear – there is no such thing that sport is out of politics.
Most of all I am surprised when they say that not everything is so simple. What is not clear? One country attacked another for no reason at 4 am – a direct parallel. For me, everything is clear – everyone should have their own position and voice it – either there or here. There is no such thing, not everything is so clear.
For me, politics is when you need to resolve some issues, to agree. One country with another, trade relations. This is politics for me. And after 2020, this is no longer a question of politics for me, it is a question of human dignity: who are you? There or here. Can’t be in the center. Either white or black. This is different, not political,” Dulub said.
