After launching a first pair of high-end headphones, the Chinese brand OnePlus has unveiled their successor: the OnePlus Buds Pro 2. They offer polished audio quality, with multipoint Bluetooth compatibility and many features. Barely released, here they are already 15% cheaper on Amazon.

Headphones that are comfortable to wear
The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 resemble the first generation, with an in-ear format and glossy plastic stems. A design choice that sets the wireless headphones apart from the competition. Once in the ears, they are rather pleasant to wear and offer good support. Even in the event of more pronounced activity, the headphones remain firmly anchored in the ear canals without noticeable disturbance. They are also resistant to splashes and rain or sweat.
As for the case that houses the earpieces, it takes a format similar to that of the first version. The case gives you up to 25 hours of music playback, and if you’re in a hurry, 10 minutes of charging is enough to recover 60% energy. Otherwise, the autonomy of the headphones is 6 hours with noise reduction mode and 9 hours without noise reduction. During our test, we rather obtained an autonomy between 4 and 5 hours with the noise reduction activated.
Successful audio quality
Due to their in-ear format, they provide good passive isolation and like the first generation, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 are equipped with several microphones to offer active reduction of ambient noise. Overall, the earbuds do a good job of reducing the dullest and most constant sounds, like the noises of a fan or the hum of traffic in the distance. On the other hand, they are struggling for voices and are far from being at the level of what the big names on the market offer. A transparency mode is also included. It proves to be efficient enough to allow you to hear the environment around you better.
It is on the audio part that this second generation does better. OnePlus’ Buds Pro 2 each feature two dynamic drivers designed in partnership with Danish speaker brand Dynaudio. They offer good sound dynamics with an emphasis on low frequencies to provide depth, but also on the mids to distinguish voices quite clearly. They offer a warm and largely customizable sound in the HeyMelody application thanks to an equalizer.
