At the end of 2022, information appeared on the network that a group of players filed a class action lawsuit against Microsoft demanding that the corporation’s merger with Activision Blizzard be banned. Most of the players who filed a lawsuit use the Playstation as their main platform. In total, 10 people were declared in the lawsuit, who expressed concerns about the deal.
The gamers’ lawsuit argued that the merger would reduce competition in the gaming sector, and this, in turn, would harm society. According to Reuters, a judge in San Francisco dismissed the lawsuit:
Plaintiffs’ general contention that the merger could lead to “higher prices, less innovation, less creativity, less consumer choice, reduced production, and other potential anti-competitive effects” is not enough.
Let’s remind, in the USA now at Microsoft there is a trial in court with the Federal Trade Commission which seeks to block the transaction.
