In early February, Bethesda announced that “Redfall” will require a constant internet connection even in single-player mode. Apparently, this was not only met with approval, as a current statement by the company suggests.
Game Director Harvey Smith explains in an interview with Eurogamer that they are currently investigating how to circumvent the online requirement in the single player of “Redfall”. He understands that there has been criticism from players, for example from areas with bad internet. However, Bethesda is listening to the criticism, which is why these measures are now being taken.
At the same time, Smith clears up speculation that the online requirement is related to the fact that there is a store in the game. This is not the case and there would also be no microtransactions.
“Redfall” will be available on May 2nd for Xbox Series X and PC.
