Castle Craft has its world premiere, showing the intricacy and complexity of building a great fortress, and the satisfaction that hordes of enemies can’t fight their way in.
Castle Craft is an upcoming base-building game in which players are tasked by a local king to build fortresses the Lord of the Rings would envy – and with good reason, considering the trailer shows hordes of the undead coming at you.
The trailer shows both massive castles – seemingly completely destructible – and a character building a simple stone bunker that could probably keep a prying neighbor away, so obviously players will have a lot of freedom in how they decide to build their locks. The grandest fortresses we’ve seen so far are massive citadels with mechanized towers and rotating traps at the doors.
And all this will obviously be necessary, because, apparently, the enemies are not weakening. Not only do we see hordes of skeletons with siege towers and giants throwing boulders, but as already mentioned, they seem to be able to destroy your castles as effectively as you build them. The game’s Steam page says they’ll evolve, mutate, and adapt to your specific strategies, so keep your tactics in mind!
Castle Craft has been announced by Twin Earth developers for 2023.
