The tragic news of Lance Reddick’s death has shocked fans and those who, like Bungie, collaborated with the American actor in the making of Destiny 2. The PlayStation Studios subsidiary therefore explains that it will honor his memory by proposing his unpublished interpretations in the role by Commander Zavala.
From the columns of their ‘institutional blog’, the leaders of Bungie say they are deeply saddened by the news of the death of Lance Reddick and, in recalling his commitment to the development of Destiny, they explain that “for almost a decade, Guardians from all over the world have found guidance and comfort in the presence of Zavala, driven by his unmistakable voice full of strength, serenity and nobility“.
Reflecting on the importance of Lance Reddick’s commitment to the Destiny project, Bungie also points out that “the Destiny community and the world continue to pay tribute to him with endless messages of emotion on social media and meetings out of respect before Zavala in the Tower, on the loggia that watches over the Last City. As an actor, musician, gamer and family man, the passion with which Lance approached his life and profession is still reflected today in the eyes and hearts of all the people who loved him.
Aware of Lance Reddick’s great love for Destiny 2, the leaders of Bungie have therefore decided that “for the moment, we will honor his memory through his interpretations that have yet to appear in the game, and forever remembering his incredible work. We are extremely saddened by her passing, but will be eternally grateful for our time together; our thoughts go out to his friends and family. Thanks for everything, Lance. We will miss you”.
