Huawei is betting on innovation to gain a “more sun” place in the consumer electronics market. After revealing the FreeBuds 5, which are characterized by their original design in the shape of a drop of water, there was time to reveal yet another surprise.
The new FreeBuds Pro 2+ headphones also innovate in this segment, being the first to include temperature measurement and heart rate monitoring features.
According to the brand, the integration of new sensors for these features did not significantly increase the weight of each headset, since only 0.2 grams were added. Each headset of this model weighs 6.3 grams.
The Chinese brand also explained that for heart rate monitoring, a dual infrared and green sensor has been integrated that allows it to provide more accurate data than optical sensors, usually integrated in wearable technology.
In turn, the temperature sensor uses a three-dimensional measurement architecture that detects and evaluates the temperature of the ear canal and the skin of the ear, as well as its lateral area.
The data collected from these three points are then combined by an algorithm that provides more accurate information.
As for the sound specifications, the new FreeBuds Pro 2+ provide support for L2HC and LDACTM High Definition Audio. They are also equipped with ANC 2.0 dynamic noise cancellation, based on a stereo array of three microphones with a maximum reduction depth of up to 47 decibels.
The headphones also have spatial audio based on a sound field rendering engine developed by Huawei itself that allows users to choose one of three available: concert, theater or cinema.
For now, there is still no information on its global availability or price at which it will hit the market.
