Have you tired of the usual creatures in your D&D games? The publisher Mage Hand Press wants to put a solution to it with the launch of Book of Extinction, a bestiary found on Kickstarter. With a financing goal of 18,469 euros, the crowdfunding campaign has already exceeded the figure of 63,000 euros.
In this way, everyone who contributes their grain of sand will have access to a very special publication, since it draws on animal species that humans have extinct throughout history. Compatible with 5E of the Wizards of the Coast game, the book provides more than 100 animals such as the dodo, the Tasmanian tiger or the saber tooth.
From the company they encourage any fan of Jurassic Park, Studio Ghibli y Discovery Channel to get hold of it for $35 in digital format and $80 if we go physical. There is a lot of information between the pages about each species, its peculiarities and the reasons that led to its disappearance from planet Earth.
We can take both the statistics of the animals that existed and fantastic reimaginings of them. In addition, it has been chosen to include mythological beings such as werewolves, statues that come to life and subclasses in Book of Extinction. The veracity of what we will read in the book has been accredited by several expert biologists who have been consulted by Mage Hand Press.
“We believe that if human behavior caused these extinctions, then our behavior may safeguard the future of other species,” its creators point out. If everything goes fine, copies will be shipped from January 2025 and the funds raised will be donated to the Center for Biological Diversity.
