On its first day of showing, John Wick 4 made $8 million in the US. This is the best result in the history of the series; it is expected that fees on the first weekend will also be a record.
Now the opening fees of the film in the SGA are projected at the level of $65-70 million. So far, the best result among films about John Wick belongs to the third part, which earned $56.8 million at the start.
In Russia, “John Wick 4” earned 52 million rubles on the day of the premiere. Unlike many recent blockbusters, the film was officially released in Russian distribution.
Such fees were enough to take first place in Thursday’s fees, beating competitors by a wide margin. The second place was taken by the film “In the sun, along the rows of corn”, which earned 11.983 million rubles per day.
It is noteworthy that the opening fees of John Wick 4 in Russia turned out to be slightly lower than that of the third film in the franchise. John Wick 3, released in 2019, started with 52.2 million rubles; perhaps in terms of revenue for the entire weekend, the new film will still break ahead.
