The developers are not giving up and will try to come up with something else.
On the evening of March 24, Survival Sons Of The Forest received a hotfix that rolled back one of the changes in Update 02. Now container items work the same as before the release of Patch 02.
In Update 02, the developers changed how containers work: they began to save their state. Previously, players could loot containers several times, the fans did not really like the closure of this possibility.
In the comments to the changelog, the players explained that if the containers become disposable, this makes it very difficult to obtain many resources. Developers were asked to first add other ways to obtain resources, and then change the mechanics of containers.
As a result, the Endnight Games studio listened to the wishes of the fans. The developers promised to introduce the mechanics of disposable containers only after they add new ways to replenish stocks of items.
We do not yet know when these methods will appear. The next major patch for Sons Of The Forest is due out April 7th.
