The announcement of the Counter-Strike 2 update on Source 2 last week, as expected, affected the current version of the CS:GO online shooter, which this weekend once again updated its record for the number of simultaneous players – on March 26, it had 1,519,457 players simultaneously playing, which is the best result in the history of the project.

This result was the second in the history of Steam – at the same time, the online shooter CS: GO from its 1.5 million concurrent players is still far from the absolute record of the famous battle royale PUBG: Battlegrounds with more than 3.2 million concurrent players, which has already been held for more than a year . And it is not yet clear who and when will be able to surpass this result.
At the same time, it is clear that with the launch of Counter-Strike 2 approaching, Valve’s peak online shooter, which remains one of the most popular, will continue to grow.
Currently, Counter-Strike 2 with modern graphics, reworked gameplay and maps can be played within limited beta testing. According to the plan, the game will be released in the summer as a free CS:GO update and will include all the benefits of the previous version.
