Aroged, Bandung – The news of Lance Reddick’s death has left deep sorrow, especially for Destiny 2 players. They paid their last respects in-game by kneeling before his character, Commander Zapala, at The Tower. After responding to the sad news, Bungie shared that Lance Reddick will continue to appear as the iconic character in future content.
Reddick plays big as an actor in Hollywood. He recently caught the public’s attention thanks to his appearance on the television series The Wire. He then appeared in several other television series such as Fringe and Bosch. His role in the John Wick franchise made him even more recognized
Besides Destiny 2, it also plays a big role in the gaming industry. He played Martin Hatch in Quantum Break and voiced the character Sylens in Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. Bungie also notes that Reddick is a gamer.

Lance Reddick Still Appears in Commander Zapala in Upcoming Destiny 2 Content
Commander Zavala will still be present in future Destiny 2 content
Bungie shared an update on Reddick’s contribution to Destiny 2. It also shared the future of Commander Zavala, his character, in the game. This news follows the initial response to Reddick’s death.
“The respect that has been poured out for Lance has been extraordinary; from the touching news on social media to a gathering in his honor at Zavala’s premises at The Tower, overlooking Last City. As an actor, musician, gamer, and family man, the passion that Lance brings to all that he loves is evident in the eyes and hearts of all those who love him. Now, we will honor his existence through his upcoming appearance in the game, and his timeless memories,” wrote Bungie.
Based on the blog page, Reddick’s role as Commander Zavala will not be replaced at all. The late Reddick would continue to appear posthumously, at least until he finished voicing the character at a certain story point. It is possible that Commander Zavala will be retired from Destiny 2 in a future story.
Lance Reddick also had various projects he was working on prior to his death. John Wick: Chapter 4 releases March 24, 2023 in the United States, a week after Reddick’s death. He also starred as Zeus in the Disney+ original series Percy Jackson and the Olympians and also reprized his role as Sylens in the Horizon Forbidden West DLC, Burning Shores.
