After more than 18 months of absence, the Tesla sponsorship program is making a comeback in France. Let’s go back together on the details of this unprecedented way that has allowed the manufacturer to experience so much success. On the program: “gifts” for the godfather and the godchild.
We were no longer expecting it, and yet it is indeed back: the Tesla sponsorship program which ended in September 2021 has just reappeared in the manufacturer’s application. Its mode of operation almost does not change, but the associated rewards may be different. Let’s do a check in.
After 18 months of absence, the sponsorship program is back
It has been almost 18 months since there was no sponsorship program in France at Tesla, which marked the end of an era. If during the last months of its existence, the gifts were simply a few months of free Supercharging, at the best period the rewards could go much further.
Indeed, for several months, each referral brought in a 2% discount on the price of a Tesla Roadster, which enabled several dozen serial sponsors to collect enough referrals to have two free Roadsters. If no Tesla Roadster has yet been produced, it is a few hundred of these electric cars at 250,000 dollars which should be offered to some. On paper, this is a shortfall for Tesla of 25 million dollars of course, but that is nothing compared to a classic advertising budget for a car manufacturer.

Don’t expect to be able to win a car though with the new sponsorship formula that has been online since that day, because it is much more modest in its rewards. In terms of operation, it differs slightly from before since each owner earns “credits” which are then redeemable for products or free Supercharging kilometers according to your preferences. Tesla’s support page is up to date with the current sponsorship terms for further clarification as needed.
Many products to recover
In practice, until March 31 (the end of Tesla’s fiscal quarter, a date that is still important for the manufacturer), Tesla wants to boost its sales and offers enhanced sponsorship, which adds 10,000 credits to the godfather, and 5,000 to the godchild. After March 31, the program will return to normal and only 2,000 credits for the sponsor and 100 for the godchild will be earned. These credits are then exchangeable for many products as you can see below.

So don’t forget to order with a link from a Tesla sponsor to take advantage of any discounts, although that doesn’t represent much on the purchase of a vehicle costing several tens of thousands of euros, it’s always nice to take advantage of free charging or a free accessory.
