President of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) Olle Dahlin shared his thoughts on the impact of climate change on biathlon.
“Climate change is a serious problem, and the international federation should contribute to the fight against this phenomenon, be an example to follow in this matter. We are focusing on optimizing movement to reduce our carbon footprint, including for fans attending competitions.
For example, at the next World Championships in Lenzerheide, combined train and competition tickets will be offered. In addition, in the short term, support for existing competition venues is provided through advances in the development of artificial snow production,” Dalin said.
