Liv Tyler is set to star in Captain America: The New World Order, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Tyler will reprise his role as Betty Ross, the Hulk’s love interest; she played the character in The Incredible Hulk, released in 2008.
In the 15 years since the release of The Incredible Hulk, the character Tyler has never appeared in any of the Marvel Cinematic Universe projects. The publication was unable to find out what role Betty will play in the plot of Captain America 4.
Probably, Betty’s return is due to the fact that in the new film, her father, General Thaddeus Ross, became the President of the United States. The role of Ross will not be played by William Hurt – the actor died in 2022 – but by Harrison Ford.
This is not the only Betty-related change that has taken place since 2008. In The Incredible Hulk, the role of Bruce Banner was played by Edward Norton, then the character was transferred to Mark Ruffalo.
Captain America 4 is set to release on May 3, 2024.
