The developer promises that Redfall will have a strong year full of updates after the launch.
The fight for the idyllic town of Redfall is only a few weeks away. Starting May 2nd, Xbox and PC players, as well as Xbox Game Pass subscribers, will be able to give vampires a hard time in the game of the same name.
Game Director Harvey Smith revealed in an interview what plans developer Arkane Studios has for the game after the launch.
Accordingly, players can look forward to a strong year full of updates for Redfall.
“We have plans for additional weapons, costumes, monsters, characters, and more that we can’t talk about right now. But we’re having a strong year of updates, and everything is either in the current game or coming as DLC. We try to make it as fair as possible for people.”
Smith also promised that there would be no shop and therefore no microtransactions.
“We’re trying to be very clear that there are no microtransactions or in-game stores. If you find an outfit in the game, you can have it, it’s as simple as that.”
The fact that the studio has big plans is also shown by the statement that Redfall will be the studio’s most supported game. The structure of a server model is intended to help the game update better and react to problems.
“Apart from that, Redfall will be our most supported game after launch. We decided on a server model so that we can constantly update the game. When we see a lot of people falling off ladders and dying, we can update the code of the ladders. If we see that nobody is playing that character, we can rework it and make it more appealing.”
Meanwhile, the online compulsion for single players, which has been criticized by players, has been criticized and is now being removed.
