During the last episode of the XboxERA podcast we talked about Skies of Arcadia Remastered: Shpeshal Nick revealed that a re-release of the game is in development, without revealing any further details. Shortly after, some alleged screenshots spread on the web … and this is where Insider Gaming intervenes.
According to the source, the leaked images are absolutely genuine and one remastered version of Skies of Arcadia is under development, although there are no indications on the publisher, the development studio and any timing related to the announcement and the release.
In short, at the moment it seems it is not possible to find out more but Insider Gaming has no doubts and after consulting its trusted sources confirms the existence of the Skies of Arcadia Remastered project. For those who don’t remember, Skies of Arcadia is a JRPG developed by Overworks and released by SEGA in 2000 on the late Dreamcast, also released on the GameCube in 2002 under the title Skies of Arcadia Legends. The game was received positively at the time, becoming a small cult, but recording sales below expectations, also thanks to the small installed base of the Dreamcast and GameCube.
Over the years there has been talk of u several timesn possibile Skies of Arcadia 2 but plans for a sequel never materialized. Insider Gaming has contacted SEGA to learn more about a possible involvement of the Japanese publisher in the project Skies of Arcadia Remastered.
