Honor is again attacking the entry level with a Lite version of its Honor 70. A model priced at 200 euros which slips into a very competitive positioning. Here is what the Honor 70 Lite offers for its low price.

Last September, the Honor 70 was released: a mid-range smartphone facing the big names in the market, such as the Pixel 6a or the Galaxy A53. In our test, the main criticism we made of it was its price, which was considered a bit too high. The brand seems to want to attack other ranges, such as smartphones under 200 euros, with its Honor 70 Lite. A price where the competition is very aggressive: the Redmi Note 12 is also present at 200 euros and could do a lot of harm.
A 6.5-inch screen in 90 Hz
In its design, the Honor 70 Lite is classic. Rounded corners, pronounced edges for a good grip and a flat screen: the recipe is known. On the back, there is a photo block which contains the three photo sensors as well as the flash. On the right side are the volume buttons as well as the fingerprint sensor. Small positive point that we do not necessarily find at 200 euros: a refresh rate of 90 Hz. On the British sales page, we learn that the screen is a TFT LCD and that it has a definition of 1600 by 720 pixels (20:9 ratio). Both its screen technology and its definition seem a bit tight in 2023, in particular put face to face with a Redmi Note 12 and its Oled 120 Hz FHD + screen.

On the photo part, this 70 Lite is equipped with a main sensor of 50 Mpx, a depth sensor of 2 Mpx as well as a macro sensor of 2 Mpx as well. We can assume that only the first will be really useful: most of the time, small macro sensors are of little use. The brand adds, however, that there is the presence of the Dual-View function. It allows you to record videos with both the back camera and the selfie camera (which is 8 Mpx).
4 GB of RAM, plus Android 12
The Honor 70 Lite is equipped with a Snapdragon 480 Plus SoC which is 5G compatible. A chip accompanied by an Adreno 619 GPU and 4 GB of RAM, which can be increased to 7 GB through the use of virtual RAM storage . Speaking of storage, it is 128 GB and can be expanded by an additional 1 TB via a microSD card. On the interface side, we are entitled to Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12: no Android 13 for the moment therefore.

Everything is powered by a 5000 mAh battery that offers “up to 19 hours of online video playback, 26 hours of music streaming, 14 hours of gaming or 52 hours of calling”, specifies the manufacturer in a press release. As for recharging, it has a power of 22.5 W, which is not incredible: at the same price, you can find better.
Honor 70 Lite price and availability
The Honor 70 Lite has been available since today on the Honor website as well as at resellers. It is available in a single configuration with 128 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM at a price of 199 euros. This smartphone is available in two colors: silver and blue.
