Ukrainian judoka Yakov Hammo will miss most of the 2023 season due to a knee injury. Vitaliy Dubrova, head coach of the Ukrainian judo team, spoke about this.
“He had a knee joint operation, he had a torn ligament. He has already begun his recovery. We hope that in November-December we will see him on the mat. But still he has a lot of weight, a lot will depend on his recovery. We are planning for the end of the year, but so far without anything specific. The operation is quite complicated and the damage was rather big,” said the coach of the Ukrainian national team.
Yakov Khammo took part in the European and World Championships in 2022. At both tournaments, the athlete could receive medals, but in the end he became the fifth and seventh, respectively.
