A laptop gamer with concrete characteristics
Unlike the MSI Katana, the MSI Crosshair have a more conspicuous design with a more colorful chassis like this Crosshair 15 with keys painted in blue, green and yellow. On the other hand, even though this model has a diagonal of only 15.6 inches, it weighs its weight and easily exceeds 2 kg on the scale. We expect no less from a laptop with state-of-the-art components galore in the belly. The connector set is also complete with USB-A and USB-C ports.
The 15.6-inch screen, however, does the minimum necessary in terms of display with IPS LCD technology and a Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) which prevents you from enjoying the games at their true graphic value. We still have an impressive refresh rate of 240 Hz, ideal for very competitive and naughty multiplayer games. Regarding storage, we have a 512 GB NVMe SSD already installed and which can be accompanied by another M.2 SSD.
What the RTX 4070 is worth in this configuration
No suspense on that side, the RTX 4070 is one of the most powerful graphics cards of the moment, it is only surpassed by the RTX 4080 and 4090 at the time of writing these lines. That is to say that this configuration is more efficient than the most powerful of the configurations of the previous generation which could then count on the RTX 3080 Ti. With this GPU, you’ll be able to run all the latest and upcoming games in 1440p at 80 FPS with ray-tracing and DLSS 3 on the program. It’s simply daunting!
As for the processor, we have an Intel Core i7-12650H with 10 cores and 16 threads capable of a maximum frequency of 4.7 GHz. It is also assisted by 16 GB of DDR5 RAM, knowing that this configuration can accommodate up to 64 GB in two slots. The processor also has a dedicated GPU which is an Intel Iris Xe which the laptop can switch to if you don’t need a lot of graphics resources, thanks to Nvidia Optimus technology. Among other things, this preserves the life of your battery.
