Is E3 still a relevant gaming event, especially after the pandemic? If you look at the existing trends, the word “No” seems to be the most rational answer at the moment. How come? Despite the fact that it will return as a physical event this year complete with various booths promising the latest games for visitors to try out, almost all the “big players” decided not to get involved. We’re talking about big names like Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo who have confirmed this. Now, other publishers agree to the same thing.
After being the most vocal publisher in announcing its support for E3 2023, Ubisoft suddenly came up with a surprising 180-degree decision. That’s right, they have now decided to no longer participate in E3 2023. Instead, they will hold their own event – Ubisoft Forward Live which will be held in Los Angeles on June 12, 2023. No official reason was given, just a confirmation. Meanwhile, this means that E3 2023 has so far failed to “lock in” any giant publishers publicly until the time this news was written.
Ubisoft ended up participating in E3 2023 and will be holding their own event.
E3 2023 itself will be held from June 13, 2023. Will Ubisoft’s departure lock down the “death” of this gaming event that was once the mecca? Let’s wait.
