After being ignored and seen as a stepchild for a very long time, the extra attention that Microsoft has given to the Southeast Asian market over the past year is indeed a relief. That they are no longer only focused on Singapore, they are starting to see other Southeast Asian countries including Indonesia as potential markets. The highlight? They released the PC Game Pass service officially a year ago, which allowed many Indonesian gamers to access the latest AAA and indie game releases from Wo Long to Persona 5 at super cheap prices on the first day of release. Now, they are starting to penetrate into the hardware market.
Through confirmation by Jeremy Hinton – Asia Business Director, Xbox has finally confirmed that it will officially enter the hardware market for the Southeast Asian region. Not yet in the form of an Xbox Series release indeed, but they will officially bring their flagship Xbox Wireless Controller to the Indonesian market later. This accessory was chosen because of its increasing popularity as an input device for PC gaming, which Xbox SEA continues to push. The high number of controller users for PC Gaming on Steam is also a consideration.
Xbox SEA will officially release the Xbox Wireless Controller in Indonesia in the coming weeks to months.
Xbox ensures that the official release schedule for the Xbox Wireless Controller for the Southeast Asian market will vary, including the Indonesian market. They will begin releasing it in the coming weeks to months, with more information to be made available following each country’s release schedule. These details have not been shared including the official price as to what will be set. How about you? Interested?
