Bloober Team, the Polish studio currently working on the remake of Silent Hill 2, wrote a statement to clear up two issues that have been affecting them recently: news regarding the game’s sales estimates and development status.
As you may recall, Bloober’s claims of 10 million copies as a realistic target for Silent Hill 2 were reported a few days ago, but the team claims that the original sentences had a different meaning than what we read, and therefore there were translation errors.
“We don’t usually comment on rumors, but this time we have to make an exception as some recent rumors were taken out of context due to translation errors,” the Bloober Team wrote in a Twitter post. “Our communications did not include sales estimates for specific games – the predictions associated with Silent Hill 2 were about the potential success of the type of game we were focusing on going forward. It is also not true that we have announced that Silent Hill 2 is ready for release. Regardless of the state of development, all our activities are focused on getting the highest possible quality of the finished product: the quality that fans of Silent Hill 2 deserve. We know that players are waiting for new information about Silent Hill 2: as soon as updates become available, we are confident that Konami , the game’s publisher, will share them with users.”
