The uncertainty of Elden Ring players in the Ray Tracing patch is confirmed by tests conducted by Digital Foundry. An expert team of journalists has revealed all the problems that Interearth researchers have been reporting on in recent days.
Enabling ray tracing on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X has a negative impact on performance and therefore on the gameplay that Senzaluce emulators enjoy. Although the patch is limited to introducing ray tracing to only manage shadows and ambient shading effects (so without interfering with lighting and reflections), players have to make so many compromises if they want to appreciate the benefits of a single created scenery. more immersive thanks to aspects such as dynamic shadows applied to each individual natural element of the open world map.
In fact, Digital Foundry’s tests show a clear drop in performance, both in frame rate (measured in about 15-20fps of lost control at the same graphics presets) and in resolution. The problem in question is not only related to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions, but also to the PC version, suffice it to mention the halving of the frame rate of Elden Ring on the RTX 4090, which was reported these days by the owners of a high-end NVIDIA graphics card.
