Il world of Star Wars is vast. The space adventure that originated from the mind of George Lucas in the 80s has found many ways to expand thanks to a series of authors and visionaries who have contributed, in their own way, to create the famous expanded universe. Particularly in the 1990s and 2000s there were new projects published.
One of these comes from the mind of Bioware, namely the PC video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, one of the world’s most acclaimed Force. KOTOR was one of the first RPGs set in the Star Wars expanded universe and allowed multiple ways to experience the adventure between known and unknown planets of the saga. Besides the protagonist, it is possible to select various characters, all of them fundamental.
Bastila Shan is an iconic character from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Bastila was a Jedi Padawan during the Mandalorian Wars and later became a Jedi Knight, well known for her prowess in battle, due to her bond with her Force which allows her to develop the special “Battle Meditation”. This makes her a valuable asset to the Galactic Republic in its fight against the Sith.
The figure of Bastila Shan has had a great impact on the Star Wars fan community, despite being introduced only in this side game of the saga, becoming a quite beloved character. Her design, with its distinctive braid, has become a recognizable element of the saga, and you can see it in this cosplay of Bastila Shan with her double-bladed lightsaber ready for the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic now in development. Unfortunately however, for now it is not known when Bastila and the other characters will return to action since the remake of KOTOR will still take years.
