AMD has officially unveiled the A620 chipset. Motherboards based on it will become a more affordable alternative to solutions based on the B650 and X670 chipsets, although with some compromises. In particular, the AM5/A620 boards lack support for the PCI Express 5.0 interface and the ability to overclock the processor. Overclocking of RAM, including AMD EXPO technology, will remain.

In Europe, of course, AM5/A620 boards will cost more than the $85 recommended for the US market. For example, ASUS has set the recommended prices for TUF Gaming A620M-Plus WiFi, TUF Gaming A620M-Plus and Prime A620M-A-CSM at €169, €149 and €139 respectively.
