If you’re a PS Plus Extra and Premium subscriber, you won’t be able to tell us you missed out on the recently added PS4 and PS5 games. Since January, Sony and PlayStation have been outdoing themselves to make their games catalog look great and this month of March has been strong. While waiting for the April news, here are the exceptional titles that you could discover “for free”!
In life, everyone has their little rituals. Among PlayStation players, there are now two that consist of waiting wisely for the announcement of “free” games from PlayStation Plus and new arrivals in the catalog of Extra and Premium formulas, the two upper levels of Sony’s program. Somewhat cautious in their additions during the first months, the two formulas make amends at the start of 2023 by announcing something heavy for PS4 and PS5 players who can thus discover titles that have been eyeing them for some time. For exemple, there was Devil May Cry 5, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Life is Strange in January; Scarlet Nexus, Resident Evil VII and, above all, Horizon: Forbidden West (!) in February!
With the announcement of the sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn in the Extra and Premium formulas, PlayStation made the nice move boost the attractiveness of its new subscriptions with a big AAA game from just a year ago, while drawing the eye to the arrival of its Burning Shores extension ! And it does not stop there since the Japanese company begins, in a way, to imitate the Xbox Game Pass by including day-one titles, as was the case for Stray ! In March, Sony and PlayStation took over this concept and reproduced it again in April to accompany la sortie de Meet Your Maker. Never two without three, the batch of the past month was particularly qualitative with exceptional titles.
A fabulous month of March with highly rated PS4 and PS5 games!
The great thing about additions to the Extra and Premium catalog is that there’s something for everyone, month after month. The biggest surprise of March was Tchia : a title that sounded like an ode to the lands and culture of New Caledonia and which is riding the wave of open-worlds à la Breath of the Wildall in a charming and touching adventure that has garnered the score of 16/20 in our columns! In the moving genre, there was plenty to do with the inclusion of two new opuses from the Life is Strange license: Life is Strange 2 (noted, on average, 15,8/20) et Life is Strange : True Colors (note 14/20). It was necessary to balance well with the rest because what follows overflows with action!
Yes, the month of March was an excellent vintage since at the moment players have to make difficult choices as the titles that follow are exceptional with, for example, Uncharted : Legacy of Thieves Collection (17/20), Immortals Fenyx Rising (15/20), Dragon Ball Z Kakarot (13/20but which has improved considerably), Ghostwire Tokyo (rated 16/20) or RAGE 2 (17/20)! Even J-RPG enthusiasts were still spoiled with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD (12/20but a box on PSP) and NEO : The World Ends With You (15/20)! All we hope for now, is that the arrivals of the month of April are of the same ilk.
