While viewers continue to wait for news of the series’ return, Robert Kirkman has revealed new information about the second season of Unbreakable.
The Prime Video animated series is an adaptation of Kirkman’s graphic novels, centered on a teenager who struggles with his sudden transformation into a superhero under the guidance of his father, Omni-Man, but learns of his dark secrets.
Robert Kirkman recently spoke to Collider about his work on the horror comedy Renfield and shared updates on the highly anticipated second season of Unbreakable. The creator of the series shared some interesting details about how far the production of the next chapter of the series has progressed, and jokingly expressed his wish that fans would stop asking him about it.
Everything is going great. Now I’m seeing the full animation, we’re putting on music and stuff, and it’s going great. And I can’t wait for people to finally see it so they stop asking me about it.
While Kirkman’s latest post on Unbreakable season 2 doesn’t reveal how close production is to completion, the assurance that he’s seeing “full animation” and that the episodes are overdubbed with music indicates they’re nearly done. Also, with the series’ return slated for late 2023, it would only make sense to not only wrap it up soon, but give viewers a chance to see the next chapter in the coming months.
