The Studio Wildcard team announced the development of a remaster of ARK: Survival Evolved, which will receive the Survival Ascended prefix to the title. The game is planned to be ported to the Unreal Engine 5 engine, so it will receive support for many of the latest technologies, including ray tracing.
The developers are going to release an updated version in August of this year on computers and consoles of the current generation. The servers of the current version of the game are planned to be closed. It is noted that in addition to significantly improved graphics, fans are waiting for a redesigned camera from the 3rd person, cross-platform gameplay with the ability to use mods and a modified interface.
In addition to the original Island, the remaster will include content from The Survival of the Fittest expansion and various expansions with non-canon maps. On PS5, the project will cost about $40.
The studio also said that ARK 2 will definitely not be released this year. Most likely, its release will take place only in a year. The developers also do not plan to show new screenshots or videos of the game in the next few months. According to them, it took them noticeably more time to learn a new engine, so in order to create the highest quality project, they decided to postpone its release.
