iPhone owners will be familiar with the changes, the new design and recommendations have been here for a while. With beta version 12.14, the adjustments are now coming to the first Android devices.
The move may come as a surprise to many users, since no other Google app has such a large search bar. There are apparently no other changes to the functionality of the app with the update.
