Universa is releasing the horror comedy Renfield this April. The film was directed by Chris McKay. The film starred Nicolas Cage as the Prince of Darkness and Nicholas Hoult as the titular servant of the blood-sucking monster. The horrific adaptation may be comedic in nature, but the movie doesn’t forget the franchise’s bloody roots. In the final trailer for the film, the cast tells us all about the blood-red madness of Renfield’s upcoming nightmare.
In a one-minute clip from IGN, Cage, Holt, Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez, Aquafina, and special effects makeup designer Christien Tinsley waste no time showing fans the impressive amount of gore in the film. Cage called the whole experience shocking, but when a famous actor plays the most iconic horror character of all time, can you expect anything less? Schwartz rightly called Cage the X-factor of the film, and from all the marketing videos, the actor looks like he’s enjoying playing Dracula. He was born for this role.
The film is expected to release on April 14th.
