As fans’ anticipation continues to grow, to the point of pushing PlayStation 5 Pro among recent Twitter trends, the well-known face of Insider Gaming, Tom Hendersonspoke during a recent live stream to launch some burning rumors about the state of work at home Sony.
During the live broadcast, Henderson first of all confirmed that, according to the information in his possession, PlayStation 4 Slim is expected to be announced later this yearwith a possible launch window set for next september. Apparently, the well-known insider reveals, Sony is strongly intent on replacing the current PS5 model to cut costs, and hence the need to launch a smaller and cheaper console model, which will be equipped with the much talked about removable Blu Ray player.
In this scenario, Henderson hypothesizes, PS5 Slim will become the flagship console of the Japanese company at least for the remainder of this year, while the previous model will slowly decommissioned from the production chain.
And about PlayStation 5 Pro? According to Tom Henderson’s revelations, Sony would plan to put it into production from Aprilwith the aim of introducing it to the market as of 2024. The famous Insider Gaming pen then added that, one way or another, we should know more about it soon, probably as early as the next few months.
For the moment, not much is known about the specifications of this new model of the Sony flagship console, but it must be said that not everyone agrees on its usefulness in this historical moment. For Jeff Grubb, for example, the launch of midgen consoles on the market would be useless and sometimes even harmful.
