The SVEN RX-G860 gaming mouse is packed in a cardboard box of standard sizes with a brand-specific design that combines blue and black colors.
The front cover leans back and allows you to see the mouse through the blister before buying it. The front side shows an image of the model, as well as the name, features and resolution of the sensor. On the remaining sides there is technical information and characteristics of the manipulator.
Along with the mouse in the box is an instruction manual and a warranty card.
Design
SVEN RX-G860 is a symmetrical gaming mouse with a lightweight design. Its body is made of high quality plastic. After two weeks of use, there were no traces of use.
The model is small, due to the symmetrical classic shape, suitable for right-handers and left-handers. Its surface is perforated, the holes are made in the form of regular hexagons, visually resembling honeycombs. Due to this solution, the mouse turned out to be light and ventilated, so even with prolonged use, the hand does not feel hot on it. Its weight with the cable is 116 grams, and without it, according to my measurements, about 85 grams.
Visually, the surface is divided into several zones, which are represented by RMB and LMB, back and side faces. The latter are separated from the top by a transparent strip with RGB backlight displaying 16.8 million colors. Under the back cover at the bottom edge, through the holes, another illuminated element in the form of the brand logo is visible.
The side faces of the device have small longitudinal notches that improve the grip.
The mouse is equipped with seven buttons and a wheel that acts as the eighth button. It is rubberized and has a tread that improves the grip of the finger with the surface.
In addition to the standard RMB, LMB and wheel, two buttons are located on both sides of the manipulator. Another button is located just below the wheel. It is used to switch resolution. The keys on the left perform the “Forward” and “Back” actions. The top button on the right provides a double click (“Fire” action), and the bottom button on the same side minimizes all windows, opening the desktop. The actions of all keys can be reassigned using a proprietary application.
It should be noted the successful location of the buttons, which ensures their convenient use blindly. Pressing is accompanied by a noticeable tactile response, the volume is low, although the side keys sound a little louder than the RMB and LMB. However, even with this in mind, the model can still be called quiet. The manufacturer promises that the life of the key switches will be 20 million clicks.
The bottom of the case is also perforated. In the central part is located the “peephole” of the sensor. Around is the technical information about the model. There are pads on the top and bottom of the bottom to improve glide. Out of the box, they have protective stickers that should be removed before use, as they significantly impair the “running”. Without them, the mouse moves on the mat very quickly and smoothly.
The manipulator is connected to a PC via a USB-A cable 1.8 meters long with a fabric braid for protection. A ferrite filter is located next to the plug. There is a Velcro tie to keep the cable rolled up. With it, you can also remove the excess part of the cable, if the entire length is not required for connection.
Setup
To connect a mouse, just insert its USB-A plug into a free PC port, after which it will be automatically detected by the system in a few seconds. You can use it without installing software, but if you are a fan of fine-tuning devices for yourself, then the program will provide many opportunities.

The utility weighs several megabytes, so it does not take up much space on your PC. Installation takes less than a minute.
The application pleases with a simple and intuitive interface. By default, it is in Russian, but you can also choose English if you wish.
The program opens on the “Main” tab, where we see an image of a mouse with the numbering of its keys and an indication of the actions already assigned to them. To change them, you should click on the box with the name of the action, after which a menu with a huge number of settings will open. Among them, both standard actions are available, such as “Forward”, “Back”, “DPI”, and more complex ones, including running macros, controlling audio, working in a browser or in office applications, etc.
In the same window, there are four job profiles that can be configured in different ways to perform specific tasks. They are stored in memory, so if you move the mouse to another PC, you do not have to set them up again.
The main window also has a “Light to the beat of the music” button, and also allows you to save and load previously created work profiles.
The second tab is called “Macro”. Her appointment speaks for itself, and therefore she does not need comments.
The “Advanced” tab allows you to change the polling rate (125/250/500/1000 Hz), cursor accuracy, scroll speed and fire rate. DPI is also configured here and it is possible to choose the color that the mouse lights up when a specific resolution is set.
The final tab “Backlight” allows you to select the direction of the backlight (clockwise or counterclockwise), speed and glow mode. By the way, there are a lot of options, so you can change them as you get bored. In addition, the backlight can be made continuous, completely turned off or activated by pressing.
The application pleases with simplicity and intuitiveness. It is, however, very functional. With it, you can fine-tune the mouse for yourself. It is easy to understand the operation of the software, so even an unprepared user will not experience any difficulties with this.
Usage impressions
As I said above, SVEN RX-G860 has a classical form without any innovations. Due to this, the hand does not need to get used to it, and therefore it is convenient to use it. Due to the symmetrical shape and the same arrangement of additional buttons on both sides, it will suit left-handed and right-handed people.
The device is small, so it is ideal for small and medium hands. The mouse can be considered for buying girls and teenagers. For users with a large palm, I recommend trying it on, as it may turn out to be small.
As for the build quality and materials, there is absolutely nothing to complain about. The plastic is of high enough quality so that no prints or marks from the palms appear on it, although most often budget models leave them literally after 30 minutes of operation. Plus, all the buttons are pressed clearly, do not stagger, and the mouse as a whole does not creak or play.
Due to the pads on the bottom, the manipulator glides perfectly on the woven rug, but it is important not to forget to remove the protective stickers before starting to use, since the situation with them is much worse.
The sensor resolution is 12800 DPI, which is very good for such a budget device. The mouse reacts with lightning speed, I did not find any delays. Accuracy is enough to aim at the smallest objects, and speed is enough to have time to respond to threats in especially dynamic titles. In general, in games, the manipulator behaves much better than you expect from a device with such a low price. This model surprised me.
Also, the mouse pleases with quiet operation, ease of connection and a wide number of settings. The backlight is bright and pretty, but completely unobtrusive, so it does not irritate. Let me remind you that it has many modes, in addition, if necessary, it can be completely turned off.
Conclusion
The price of SVEN RX-G860 is about 1000 rubles, which is very cheap by today’s standards. For this money, we get high-quality materials, excellent assembly, comfortable ergonomics and a nice design. In addition, the model has many customizable keys, a beautiful backlight with the ability to change its glow modes. All this is complemented by quiet operation and convenient software with a lot of settings.
In view of the above, SVEN RX-G860 is an excellent entry-level gaming mouse, which is suitable not only for gaming, but also for office use. At the same time, the design of the device will decorate your computer desk, and working with this model will bring comfort and leave a pleasant impression.
