Bandai Namco presented two more “Tekken 8” fighters this Sunday: Leroy Smith and Asuka Kazama.
After numerous series veterans like Nina Williams, Kazuya Mishima, King and Paul Phoenix are some newer characters today. With Leroy Smith and Asuka Kazama, Bandai Namco introduced two fighters at once.
No veterans this time
While Asuka arrived in part five, Leroy didn’t make his debut until the seventh main installment. However, he was not immediately present in the main game, but was added with the third Season Pass. So the wing chun master has been part of the Tekken series for less than eight years.
More about Leroy: He is a martial artist from New York who lost his family when he was a child. He then disappeared and only returned after a long time to take revenge. In the eighth “Tekken” part he continues where he left off.
“Time to take out the trash,” he makes clear at the beginning of the video. Now watch the “Grandmaster of Drip” beating up his opponents.

Asuka, on the other hand, is a member of the Kazama family. The fans suspect that she is Jin’s cousin. However, current Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada opined: It’s a bit more complicated. How exactly she is connected to Jin and the other Kazamas is not clear.
Like her family members, the young Japanese woman relies on the Kazama style of traditional martial arts. Compared to Jun, her style deviates slightly from the rules and therefore contains some street fighting elements. Asuka kept many of her attacks. However, she has acquired new brawling moves and a massive uppercut.
In the following video, “Spirited Peacemaker” demonstrates their fighting skills. “Time to teach you a thing or two,” she explains at the beginning.
