Slowly but surely there is a real chance of buying a PlayStation 5. Almost two and a half years after the release, that should go without saying, but let’s leave it. Rumor has it that Sony is already working on a Pro version of the console, which, according to an insider, even has a release window.
The PlayStation 5 has been on the market for about two and a half years and availability is slowly leveling off. So you no longer have to sacrifice your soul to get a copy of the console.

According to well-known insider Tom Henderson, Sony is already planning the next prank. Rumors have been circulating in the past about a version of the PS5 with a removable and therefore optional optical drive, which should appear in summer or autumn 2023. According to Henderson, this should reduce production costs and thus improve availability.
But the supposed insider information about a PS5 Pro is actually much more exciting. According to Henderson, we will learn some details about the device in the next few months – but not from the official side.
Of course, the reliable man does not leave us alone with these vague statements. He doesn’t (yet) have any technical details up his sleeve, but he does refer to a patent filed recently by Mark Cerny. This one is about “accelerated ray tracing”. Not stupid at all, after all, the big feature of the current generation of consoles has been a disappointment so far.
But what Henderson still has in store for us: The PlayStation 5 Pro should be on the market as early as 2024. But usually only at the end of the year. Who knows, maybe Sony is targeting November to be exactly three years after the release of the original version? We might see something new in June too, as other rumors have it that a big PlayStation showcase is taking place here.
