Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S9 (Ultra) is one of the most rumored Samsung products. A recent leak pointed to notable improvements in Samsung’s upcoming high-end tablet such as faster RAM and IP certification for waterproofing.
The design of the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will be identical to that of the Tab 8 Ultra Samsung could equip the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra with a modified Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and improved memory. The entire Galaxy Tab S9 range could be IP68 certified.
This leak comes to us from Ice Universe. He claims that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is unchanged from the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra in terms of dimensions. Specifically, both generations are 100% identical in size at 326.4 x 208.6 x 5.5mm, while the unannounced model is a few grams heavier.
Samsung’s next high-end Android tablet would also retain the same 14.6-inch Amoled screen and 11,200 mAh battery. Samsung would also not intend to offer faster charging. Instead, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra would stick to 45W fast charging, according to the leaker.

Unsurprisingly, an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset will power the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, including the Galaxy Tab S9 and Tab S9 Plus. What’s new is faster and more efficient LPDDR5X-type RAM, which is also found on the Galaxy S23+ we tested, although a larger capacity is mentioned in the tweet.

SamMobile previously hinted that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra would be the first tablet outside of the Active line to be IP-certified for waterproofing. The rumor therefore seems to be confirmed and the new Galaxy Tab S9 could therefore benefit from the IP68 index.
As for release dates, Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Tab S9 in August 2023 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. Other devices are expected to be announced at the same Unpacked event like Galaxy Watch 6, Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy SmartTag 2.
