The Game Informer special on Diablo 4 between history, endgame and expansions has fueled the community’s hopes for a possible expansion of the main campaign with the Seasons which, between now and the next few years, characterize the post-launch support of Blizzard’s role-playing action .
With a post just published by Rod Fergusson on the pages of his personal Twitter profile, the top executive of Blizzard Entertainment invited fans not to expect who knows what ‘seasonal’ upheavals in the main Diablo 4 campaign.
The former boss of The Coalition explains that “it is still very early to talk about Seasons and Expansions, but I see that some people are misinterpreting the Game Informer article. In the passage where Diablo 4 Seasons is discussed, we refer to ‘new to the story’ as a series of missions that will provide a narrative context to the new seasonal mechanics, not to a real unedited campaign“.
Therefore, if you want to listen to Fergusson, the seasonal path of Diablo 4 does not provide for direct additions to the Campaign, but for contents that will be linked to the main plot through specific missions that will provide a narrative context to the innovations (even profound) foreseen by Blizzard between history, gameplay, endgame mechanics and special modes.
Looking forward to exploring Sanctuary from June 6th on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, we leave you with the report of our test with the Diablo 4 Beta.
