What once started as a niche title for farming fans has developed into a million-selling, family-friendly brand for all gamers: “Farming Simulator”, the internationally acclaimed simulation series, is celebrating its 15th birthday.
In addition to this anniversary, the milestone of over 2.5 billion downloaded mods in the modder-friendly series is cause for celebration.
Trailer Presents Timeline & Progress
On April 14, 2008, the very first Farming Simulator saw the light of day on PC – the starting signal for a new franchise that steadily grew into a global brand. The Anniversary Trailer shows numerous notable milestones: from cooperative multiplayer in Farming Simulator 2011 and the introduction of a mobile variant with Farming Simulator 2012, followed by console versions in 2013, to the creation of an official e-sports league with Farming Simulator 19 , to cross-platform multiplayer in Farming Simulator 22.
“We want to say thank you to all the fans who have followed us over the years. Especially those who have been with us from the very beginning and all the talented, dedicated fans who have created an almost unmanageable amount of user-generated content. Together with We will make Farming Simulator even better for all fans and our partners in the future.”
Christian Amman, CEO of Giants Software
As Giants Software now announces, 2.5 billion mods have already been downloaded over the course of the series and across different platforms. The company’s commitment to user-generated content is also reflected in the fact that the internal QA department not only curates but actively tests submitted mods, as well as providing official mod tools and tutorials.
