April 16, 2023 at 5:45 p.m. by Maximilian Hohm – The Jiushark JF13K is an interesting cooler with a top-blow design whose heat sink is reminiscent of a radiator. In a test by Gamers Nexus, the Chinese cooler was able to show what it’s made of and in relation to its price it is quite convincing. Therefore, read more about the cooler below, what it is suitable for and what problems it can cause.
The simplest and most durable way to cool a PC is air cooling. Although a lot of space is usually required for high cooling performance, the coolers last a very long time and even if a fan fails, damage is not to be expected immediately due to the high mass of the cooler. Most of the traditional air coolers in the entry-level range are top blowers, while almost only tower and dual-tower cooling solutions are used. These suck in air from the front of the case and blow it towards the back.

This makes them part of the typical airflow concept and only a few expensive coolers use a different system. One of them is the Jiushark JF13K. This looks as if a dual radiator with 240 millimeters had been mounted directly on the CPU and in fact its structure is quite accurate. Unlike the radiator, however, the Jiushark is not filled with water, but cools heat pipes that are in contact with the CPU die.

The performance is quite competitive for the price of around 40 US dollars. In the Gamers Nexus test, the Jiushark lands between an Artic Freezer 34 Esports Duo and a Noctua NH-U14S. According to Steve Burke, it is easily suitable for processors with a waste heat of up to 200 watts and only the installation of the cooler is unnecessarily complicated. While it doesn’t really play to its main advantage of cooling the power supply on the motherboard, it’s still recommended for compact systems where it can improve airflow as long as it doesn’t protrude too far over the motherboard.
For the asking price, the Jiushark JF13K is definitely a valid consideration for builds with an individual look or for cases in which a high air cooler cannot be installed. More powerful alternatives in the field of air cooling, which can also be obtained from German retailers, are the Artic Freezer 34 eSports DUO, BeQuiet’s Dark Rock Pro 4, the Scythe Mugen 5 or Noctua’s NH-D15.
