Scottish heavyweight boxer Jay McFarlane (14-7, 5 KOs) spoke about sparring with Martin Bakola (18-1, 13 KOs) on the eve of his fight with Ukrainian Igor Shevadzutsky (10-0, 8 KOs).
Bakole is the most gifted boxer I have ever shared a ring with. I think he has all the data to become a world champion. We sparred a lot with him, because he trained in the gym, which is next to my house. And there are not so many heavyweights in Scotland. Those were cool sparring sessions, from which I got a great experience for myself. From these sparring sessions, I realized that Bakole has perfect timing.
I watched the fights of Shevadzutsky, and I will say that he is a very strong guy. It’s nice to watch him. But I think Bakole is too smart and he will win. That being said, I could be wrong because this is heavyweight and anything can happen,” MacFarlane said.
Fight Shevadzutsky – Bakole will be held April 22 in the Polish city of Rzeszow.
